The South African government claimed that US President Donald Trump has been ‘misinformed’ as to the seizing of white-farmers real estate after various media reported the first such case yesterday and Fox news did a segment highlighting the issue.
Mr Trump had tweeted earlier in the evening: “I have asked Secretary of State Mr Pompeo to closely study the South Africa land and farm seizures and expropriations and the large-scale killing of farmers.”

It comes after the Akkerland Boerdery near Limpopo became the first game farm
for unilateral seizure by the South African state after negotiations with the owners to purchase the properties stalled.

Akkerland Boerdery had obtained an urgent injunction to prevent the eviction until a court had ruled on the issue, but the South African government’s Department of Rural Development and Land Affairs decided to move forward with the seizure anyway.

A spokesperson for South African President Rhamapossa claimed that: “South Africa totally rejects this narrow perception which only seeks to divide our nation and reminds us of our colonial past.”
