A Texas teen was tragically killed when a tree fell on his tent at a Georgia Boy Scout camp. Authorities confirmed the sad news.
Jeff Alexander, Newton County Sheriff’s Office spokesman, told media on Monday that the incident took place at the Brent Adams Scout Camp in Newton County.

Powerful storms affected the area at that time, downing multiple trees, including the one that fell on the boy’s tent that eventually killed him.

Authorities did not release the teen’s identity yet. He was participating in a scout gathering. Some reports put the boy’s age at 14.

It is not yet clear if the boy died on the scene or he was brought to a hospital.
It is also not clear why the organizers decided to push through with the activities or allow the kids to remain in their tents despite the severe weather.

It is also yet to be established if the authorities would still investigate or will simply charge the incident to natural disaster. It is also not clear if the teen’s parents will pursue any possible case against the organizers for the tragedy that took their son’s life. It is not clear if there has been any lapse of safety measures on the part of the organizers.
Deputies will not release any other information on the sad incident.
